A Responsibly Green Company's Commitment to our Home

We all have have moral responsibility towards the health of our planet. Here at Fimbel ADS, we're doing our part by constantly innovating to make a higher quality product, at a lesser impact to the environment. This section is dedicated to our efforts.

Fimbel Architectural Door Specialtes runs on Solar Power

In early 2010, our HQ building, which houses our main office and manufacturing facilities, was outfitted with solar panels.

Since then, we have been able to reduce our overall yearly carbon footprint by a staggering 80%, versus using power generated using fossil fuels. During the summer months, our solar grid actually generates more power than we use.

Solar Power:
An infinately Renewable Resource
Clean Energy that produces no harmful outgassing
Does not require destructive and costly drilling or mining
Fimbel ADS is a proud member of the USGBC

    • Hardwoods from environmentally sound Managed Forests
      • Our stain grade mahogany products, Deluxe Estates Stain Grade and Early American Mahogany batten, are MTTC Certified Blue Star timbers - harvested exclusively from Permanent Reserved Forests, using a rotating selective felling system:
        • intended to create a perpetually regenerating natural forest that is a renewable source of forest products. Timber is not clear cut. Nor is the natural forest converted to commercial tree plantations of single species.
        • Under current guidelines, an average of one to two trees per acre are selected by the foresters for extraction, based on scientific forest management principles. Trees are not selected for their commercial value.
        • As trees are harvested, increased sunlight reaches the lower level of the forest and triggers rapid new growth that resembles the original mixture of species. Once an area has been logged, it is left alone for 30-35 years, before it can be logged again. This cycle can be repeated perpetually.
    • Our SPF core materials are generated from otherwise commercially invaluable byproducts of other operations. Mill-able to exacting specifications and extremely structurally durable, they provide a superior foundation for our overhead door products, while having a negligible environmental impact.
    • Our Scrap overhead is extremely low, thanks to efficient use of raw materials and highly incorporated product lines
    • Less scrap means less waste going out the door
    • Most of our manufacturing byproducts are re-used either by us or a third party. This includes but is not limited to:
      • Scrap aluminum, vinyl, and steel
      • Sawdust
      • Packaging Materials
    • As an added benefit, our lines are considerably higher in quality and we can price them lower
